End of Summer

Mothers (and some fathers), in Lincoln, are celebrating the end of Summer vacation. The nuisance phone calls will be reduced. The "I'm boooooored!" comments will almost cease to exist. Mom's Taxi Service hours are now afternoons and evenings only. The snack bar/cupboard doesn't need a months worth of stuff (for one week of snacks).

Carpools are revving up, and getting into gear. The alarm clocks are going off a bit earlier. Schedules are being coordinated between family members, as well as friends.

Yes, I'm talking about the start of school!
Jaydee is now at Southwest High School, and Kendra has moved to Pound. I had to smile a bit at Pound's open house, Monday. Many of the teachers recognized Kendra as being Jaydee's sister. The counselors at Pound rotate with the class. In other words they start with the 6th graders and stay with that class until the "graduate" 8th grade, then they take the next 6th grade class. This means the counselor, who worked with Jaydee for three years, is now Kendra's counselor. So a lot of new, but some old is mixed into our lives.
Prayers for an awesome 2008/2009 school year!

We don't like it at HV when school starts - we lose a lot of good dayshift workers.
