Staying accountable

Following up with my plans for 2008...90 days down.

One of the classes I am taking this quarter actually covers two aspects of my 2008 Plan. Personal Finance goes into more depth than the "Good Sen$e" class I took last fall. Plus it counts towards my academic goal! Love when I can knock two things off at once.

Another small debt is one payment away from being done. Now that the "big" debts are what are remaining, this list is not going to shrink as fast as it has the first three months this year. Even so, I am still on track to be debt free by the end of the year.

Back to the academic part of my Plan...Toured Portland State University. (loved it!) I learned they work with a long list of employers in the area, so they are able to offer internships, both paid and unpaid. Since it is located in the center of downtown Portland, I should have no problem finding a job near the college. If not, I discovered most areas of the city are only 15-20 minutes away. Their top three programs include the field I am majoring in: Psychology. (bonus!) I now know this is where I want to complete my degree...the application for admission has already been sent. I also learned I need two quarters of a Foreign Language. So it looks like I'll be taking Spanish classes by the end of the year!

Last Saturday, I received my 50# award at Weight Watchers! I am now 10# to go from my goal. Now that it's warming up, and daylight is around later in the day, I will start walking or (gasp!) running a few days a week.

As for the "lots of travel" part of my Plan: Finalizing plans for the trip to MT in May. Gearing up for the ID trip in June ("along for the ride" on this one...just being where I'm told to be, when I'm told to be there. lol) I don't remember if I included this earlier, but a trip to AZ is now in the works for Aug. The girls need to see Grandma Hudd and Aunt Sherrie. Both girls are excited about their first plane trip. Since we are going to be moving to OR (summer 2009), I am choosing to take them to OR over Christmas Break.

The one area I seem to be struggling with is "organizing my environment." I'm still chipping away at this goal. As this is not a favorite task, I'm not quite motivated to do anything major. Keeping the girls focused on this area is also a struggle. I do have two more bags waiting to be taken to Goodwill. I guess that's a start. (Mental note: Don't let this one slide.)

I checked out you pix -- looks a little cold, there.

is that Goose plane you mentioned the H. Hughe's one? I couldn't recall exactly what that was.

Yes, the Spruce Goose is the H. Hugh's wooden war plane. The entire plane is made of wood...pretty cool! This thing was absolutely HUGE! It was originally housed on an AFB in San Diego. They moved it to McMinnville about 10 years ago. (could be wrong on the date)
Yes, it was cold! The Southwood Youth Group ski trip to Colo., which I didn't go on because of the snow, had better weather! lol
