I should say a continuation of counting my blessings:
1) My stubborn, independent-thinking, spontaneous, caring (for others) daughter. Even though these characteristics show up as defiance (and drive me nuts) most of the time, I need to remember they are good characteristics to have.
2) My little Libra, with her scales out most of the time, saying "that's not fair!" I can see her as an advocate of some sort, someday in the future. Again, I need to remember this is a good charactheristic, while I'm explaining for the Nth time "life isn't fair".
3) My NEEDS are provided to me by the grace of God. I have a roof over my head, a comfortable bed to sleep in, blankets and a furnace to keep me warm, food on my table and in the cupboard, clothing and shoes to protect me from the elements (and embarassment). Regardless of how modest I see these things, I have to remember I am part of the 10% of the richest people on earth...and I am blessed!
4) Friends. I cannot stress this enough. Whether God has placed people in my life for "a reason, a season or for life", I value their presence. I have learned to surround myself with positive, encouraging people. Whether it's to teach me a lesson or me to teach them a lesson (give them guidance?), God will lead us to where He needs us.
5a) (as Janell reminded me...) The most obvious blessing of all, Jesus. He took the sting of death for my sins. For that I am thankful, on a daily basis. God provided a "scapegoat" in his son, Jesus. 5b) Worship music to help me put my feelings into words, to share with seekers and non-believers. I am free to run. I am free to dance. I am free to live for You!

Oh no! Does this mean I have to do 5 more!?
No, Janell, you don't need to do another 5 more. I needed another round of gratitude check! :)
you know, when you stop to think about it very long, the list of blessings could go on and on forever!
