Saturday night, we stayed at Id-Ra-Ha-Je (I'd rather have Jesus) Camp in Bailey, CO. For devotions that night, we answered "What did you learn?" and "I remember when..." I was impressed with the profound answers many of the teens gave to the first question. Due to confidentiality, I will not be discussing in cyberspace. Personally, I learned that not only do I have a lot to teach, but a lot to learn. "I remember when..." seems to just bring giggles and laughter. One story will remind someone of another and it seems to just feeds off of each story. Yes, my ticket was one story brought up. Thanks to John, who taped the incident on the video camera. sheesh!
Since I was involved, I can tell about one other story..."The light post slalom course" Whenever the group went as a whole, I would follow Chip's van (he usually had the directions). Wednesday, we got back to the gym parking lot, after visiting Pogosa Springs (CO). In order to position the vans with the side doors facing each other, for devotions, I was waiting for Chip to park. The next thing I know, he's driving in and out of the light poles in the empty side parking lot. I said, "what the heck is he doing?!" As I said those words, it dawned on me that he was just playing around. Amid the answers I got from my passengers, I heard "Go for it!" from one of the guys. So I did! Ok it was just a little too fast for one of the guys. He was looking a little queazy, when he got out of the van. It turns out, comments had been made in Chip's van that I would "follow him anywhere".
Sunday a.m. a bunch of the group got up at 6 to "hike to Inspiration Point". The campgrounds we were at is at 7500 elev. (give or take). Inspiration Point is at 8500. I was told "it's only a mile up and back". I can walk a mile...do that on a treadmill! My mistake was not drinking enough water the night before. (a bear had been sighted 50 yards from the girls' cabin, a week earlier, and I wasn't too keen on the idea of walking to the bathroom up the hill in the middle of the night) Even though I was lagging behind everyone else, I did get to the top! Not that it was an easy hike in any form, for me. I kept hearing "just a little farther" from Chip (one more time and I think I would have thrown him off the mountain!) It goes to show what a blessing it is to have someone pushing you to go "a little farther". The view from the top was incredible! Surrounded by mountains and valleys, plus seeing for miles around. The early morning sun casting a soft glow on everything, and the cool air that hadn't had time to heat. Someone commented it would be cool to repel down the side. I said "base jump!" (skydiving without the air plane) The way back down the mountain was much easier than going up. I didn't run down, like some. I felt I needed to be careful not to sprain an ankle (or worse), since I was driving the rest of the day.
Once back at camp, after everyone showered and packed up, we were on the road again. The plan was to shop some at a mall outside of Denver, eat lunch then head to NE.
We arrived in Lincoln at 10:00 pm. We had been blessed with an amazing week without any major illness or incidents. (I pray) for growth for the seeds which were planted along the way.

PS I'm posting pictures on myspace, click on "pics" then "new mexico". There are just the few that I have, so far. I'm expecting to have more over the next couple of weeks.

Good stories.
What a great and inspirational trip. God bless you and all your travelers for the good work you have done.
I, too pushed to the top of the mountain last summer in Colorado. Janell, Paulette & I made it. Myrna, Shirley and Bob turned around somewhere mid point.
