AZ/OR

We made it to Phoenix this morning! I am blogging from my hotel room in Phoenix.

Up at 3:10, out the door by 3:35. None of us really slept. Kendra put it best by saying, "I think I mostly meditated all night." Got lost in some construction on I480/Hwy 75. Good thing I know which side of Creighton University the airport is on! lol Even after that bit of frustration, we made it with plenty of time to get through check-in and security. Now that I know what it takes to get a laptop through security, the other trips through security won't be so bad.

Kendra got a kick out of watching the plane land and take off, while we were waiting. I don't know if it was too much coffee and water, or just "let's go!" type of nervous energy, but I was in the restroom every 20 minutes while we were waiting. Jaydee worked on some activities she had brought along.

We did see a funny sight, while waiting, though. This woman belonged on "What not to wear to the airport." (or in public for that matter) She had on a long purple, bandeau-top dress. The dress was so long, she kept stepping on it. Then she had to pull the bandeau part of the dress up.

The flight was very smooth. Only a little turbulance in the take off and landing. Couldn't ask for anything better! Jaydee didn't like the turbulance. Once we were at cruising altitude, she took a nap. Kendra asked a million questions (oh shock!), but then settled into her book "Eragon." I looked at the magazines in the back of the seat. Oh yeah! Almost forgot. The plane we were on was so new it still had a "new" smell to it. The carpet was still a bright, vibrant blue. Even the flight crews' announcement commented on "our new plane."

We landed in Phoenix 10 minutes ahead of schedule...must have had a good tailwind! Sherrie and David (George's sister and brother-in-law) picked us up at the airport. Sherrie's son, Joe, and Grandma Jeanne were along for the ride, too. We all went to IHOP for breakfast. Joe had a "Swedish crepe," as part of his meal. It had Lindonberries in it. Before he ordered, we had to find out what a Lindonberry was. I said, "even this dumb Swede doesn't know!" lol Turns out it's similar to a cranberry, but smaller.

After breakfast, they dropped me off at my hotel and were on their way. The last plans I heard were errands for Sherrie; shopping at a sporting and hunting store for David; dropping the kids off at Trent's (one of Sherrie's other boys.) to go swimming; then back to Tucson for them. The rest of that story will have to come from Kendra and Jaydee (if I can ever get her to start blogging!)

As for me, what's left today: dinner, shower and sleep...then off to the airport again!
