Idaho -trip home

Saturday, we loaded up the bus and said our final "good-byes" to the staff at Camp Lutherhaven. The trip home wasn't quite uneventful. Thank God there weren't any major breakdowns on the way home! The bus did overheat a bit, just east of Butte, MT, on Homestake Pass. I told the driver there was a truck stop in Three Forks, just east of the pass. We took an unscheduled stop there to let the bus cool down some more. (Note to Mom and Tam, this is the exit we took to Harrison Lake.) After a fast-food stop in Missoula, MT, we were on the last leg of the trip, for Saturday, with final destination Buffalo, WY.

I don't know why it took us so long to discover we had the driver's permission to play MP3 players through the radio system on the bus. Between Missoula and Buffalo, we had an all-bus karoke session...almost 2 hours! That was fun and entertaining!

We arrived in Buffalo at 10:30 pm. After everyone had their bedding set up, we had our final devotions. As has become tradition, we would answer two questions. The first part was "What was the best part?" To balance the more serious question, the second question was "Remember when...?" We were talking until 2 a.m! There were a lot of reflective stories and a lot of laughter during the second half!

Our wonderful driver, Richard Smith was replaced in WY, as he had another assignment in Seattle, WA.

Sunday morning, we were on the road by 7 a.m. (yes, a VERY short night!) Needless to say, the bus was pretty quiet until lunch time. I too, slept (sort of) for this time period, so not much to report. After lunching in Cheyenne, we continued on into Nebraska. Due to DOT regulations, we had to switch drivers in Kearney, so that we could make it to Lincoln on Sunday. We arrived in Lincoln around 10:30 pm. By the time we unloaded the bus and said our final good-byes, it was 11:30.
