Gratitude plus

-Thank God, I'm healthy mentally! After hearing the stories of the speakers for my Abnormal Psychology class, last night, that was my first reaction. All three speakers have battled mental illness all of their lives. The paranoid schizophrenic was amazing to listen to. The fact that she is still alive is only by God's Grace.
Last week, we went over healthy coping styles (to avoid stressors.)
Psychological--1) Self-efficacy (confidence) 2) optimisim 3) hardiness 4) ethnic identity (I'm a mutt and dang proud of it! lol)
Behavioral--1) Problem focused coping-style 2) social support 3) type B personality (over type A) 4) wellness. (ok I could use more sleep and exercise...2 out of 3 isn't bad!)

-Even with Spring allergies, I am grateful for God's presence in the Spring blossoms and buds.

-Thank God for my ever expanding circle of friends.

-Thank God for planes, trains (ok lightrail or El, as in Chicago, -type) and automobiles. Basically blessed with the modern transportations. The ability to visit family and friends in far away places.

-Thank God for new beginnings and this journey, I call my life.

****
This was in one of my e-devotions. It really fits my mantra!
· Life is an ADVENTURE - live by faith (Eccl 4:1-5:9)
· Life is a GIFT - enjoy it (Eccl 11:1-6)
· Life is a SCHOOL - learn your lessons (11:7-12:8)
· Life is a STEWARDSHIP - fear God (Eccl 12:9-12)

Stewardship to me isn't fearing God, but honoring him by sharing our abundance with others, whether it's monetary or time.
