Whew!

Made it through the weekend!

Friday was Jaydee's 14th birthday. She went (roller) skating with friends, and what appeared to be 50 or so acquaintences. Then 3 friends spent the night. I ended up taking one of them home, because she wasn't feeling well. Saturday, I took them to the mall for about an hour, before they had to go home. Then met Mom, Dad and Tammie at Don & Millie's (diner-type fast-food). I dropped Jaydee and Kendra off, so I could run across the parking lot to get the cupcakes and candles. Randy was able to join us, after he got off work. In the midst of celebrating with Jaydee (who would have rather been in a bed somewhere, since she was up until 4a.m.), we went over travel guides to South Dakota. We now have a list of "want tos" to choose from.

After Don & Millie's, Jaydee met some friends at SouthPointe (mall) Pavilion, while Kendra and I went to Walmart. Somewhere along the way, I lost my mind and agreed to let (another) friend spend Sat. night. The agreement was so she could go to church with us on Sunday. Since my mind was already gone, by Sunday night, she spent Sunday night too. Then Monday morning, Jaydee and her friend were dropped off at church to go skiing at Mt. Crescent, IA. (Two bus loads of middle schoolers and adult sopnsors.)

Over night Sunday, Kendra came down with a nasty fever. (praying this stuff doesn't get passed along to anyone else) So I spent the day, on Monday, in and out of the office, including having the office phones transferred to my cell phone for a few hours. Fortunately, we got Kendra into the doctor's right away. She's been diagnosed with the flu. It's bad enough that she's sick, but with the flu we can't give her antibiotics and send her to school. (I would have rather had an infection than the flu diagnosed.) Oh well, such is life.

Sounds like Jaydee had a great birthday. Hope Kendra gets better soon!

I'll bet Kendra is hating that she missed school. She said she wanted to have perfect attendance and this probably wrecked it for her. Bless her heart!
