To answer Janell's question...I am still here!Between my classes, church and the girls' school activities, there just isn't a whole lot of time left over.
The Sociology class I am taking is entertaining. This class has a lot of 18 and 19- year olds, and isn't quite as balanced as the Composition class I took the Spring quarter. The teacher earned her degree at 43 years old, so is a bit of an inspiration to me. I don't try to "show off" in class, but it's just weird being the only one who has enough experience in life to answer some of the questions.
Last week, I had a meeting with Executive Travel. I had set it up to learn how to become a travel agent, without being an Independent Contractor (hate dealing with tax issues!). Somehow, in the middle of the meeting, it turned into an actual interview. Here I am in jeans and a nice mock-turtleneck, but not my usual "interview" clothes, answering interview questions. (coolness, part 1) In August, I had attended an informational meeting with this company, but they focused on the independent contractor route (which costs $3000). During this meeting, it was explained that the usual track of an agent in their organization is: 1) Leisure travel 2) Business travel 3) Group travel 4) Corp. group travl. During my one-on-one meeting, I was told they didn't have any openings at the moment. However, to check in once every other week. He thinks he could find a spot for me, in the near future. With my computer background, plus working business-to-business (in CA), he's thinking of putting me in the business division. (coolness, part 2) This would be a step above their entry level.
Jaydee and Kendra played bells for two of the three services, last Sunday. There are only 5 in their "jr" bell choir, however quite a few people stopped them after services to say how well they did.
There's the current NUTshell version of my life!
