Endings/Beginnings

Today is the last day of school for the kids. Tomorrow is the beginning of summer. LPS has really shortened the summer break. They go back to school on Aug 20; making it a short 9 weeks off. But then they are out next spring on May 30 instead of into June.

Tonight is the end-of-year BBQ for the church youth group. We will be saying "good-bye" to the Seniors and "hello" to the incoming Freshmen. I've really been working closely to 5 of the seniors and will definitely miss them next year. These 5 were part of the group that went to Canada, 2 years ago. There is just a unique bond with them. All 4 of the 5 will be attending UNL and the 5th will be at Concordia University in Seward. So we'll see them on breaks. I guess, I now know what a teacher feels at the end of a school year.

It must be hard to say good bye but think how much they've gained from your wisdom and guidance!
